Apartment community for adults 55+ in East Lansing providing independent living with custom features.

Our residences range from studio to two-bedroom layouts, all within walking distance of the river trail, downtown library, and the Capitol. We host weekly memory-friendly programming in partnership with GLCF, including the Memory Cafe lunch series.

Residents and their families have access to 24-hour staff support, an in-house wellness team, and dedicated coordinators who can help connect you with home health, legal, and respite resources as needs change.

Do you accept residents with a dementia diagnosis?
We welcome residents in the early stages of memory loss. Our coordinators will walk with you and your family through a care assessment to make sure Newman Lofts is the right fit — and if your loved one's needs grow beyond independent living, we'll help connect you with the next step.
Can families tour together?
Yes. We encourage care partners and family members to tour alongside the prospective resident. Tours run Tuesday and Thursday afternoons and on Saturday mornings.
Is there a memory cafe on-site?
Newman Lofts co-hosts the GLCF Memory Cafe lunch series every other month. It's free, open to the public, and serves caregivers as much as those they care for.
